Back Light Theater


Materials Needed:Back-Light-Theatre

Light source (lamp or flashlight), cardboard box, large sheet of white paper, Bristol Board or construction paper, drinking straws, glue. tape, scissors.



Cut off flaps of the cardboard box on the top and bottom. Place large piece of paper over one open end and tape into place. Draw characters, shapes or any other object onto construction paper. Cut out and lay flat on a table. Hold straw so that its opening is touching the construction paper. Tape into place. Place light source behind box. From behind the opening of the cardboard box, hold straw with construction paper cut out up towards the white paper. The object’s silhouette will show through onto the other side. Add audience.
